We often get messages from customers asking, 'Why is it taking so long to ship my fins?'
We completely understand that feeling of wanting to dive into the water with your brand-new gear as soon as possible. However, we also refuse to rush the process and compromise on quality. The birth of a pair of fins requires numerous meticulous steps, handcrafted piece by piece by every single artisan here at Prussian Blue.
We would like to take this opportunity to share with you the honest, unhurried journey each pair of fins must take before it finally arrives in your hands.
The core of every fin consists of multiple layers of fiberglass or carbon fiber fabric, cut and stacked at varying angles.
• Hand-Layering & Print Alignment:
To ensure perfectly symmetrical patterns for the left and right fins, and more importantly, a centered axis for balanced stress distribution, every single layer of fabric must be hand-cut and precisely aligned. This process cannot be replaced by automation because the layering technique varies entirely depending on the fin blade design.
• Physical Tempering:
Once the fabrics are layered, they undergo an initial vacuum sealing to ensure absolutely no air leaks during the heating process. They then enter a vacuum pressure chamber for heat molding. Afterwards, they must cool down naturally and evenly; forcing them to cool down too quickly to save time would cause inner structural shrinkage, leading to invisible warping or embrittlement.
• Demolding & CNC Cutting:
We inspect the patterns for any shifting and ensure the structure is flawless before sending the blades to be cut into their initial shapes using CNC machinery.
Once the blades come out of the mold, they are still just "semi-finished products." The real test of patience lies in the post-processing line:
• Meticulous Edge Sanding & Anti-Static Washing:
Freshly cut blades have extremely sharp, razor-like edges. We must hand-sand each edge individually, followed by a water wash to remove static electricity and dust, ensuring optimal adhesion for the logos and water rails later on.
• Water Rails & Logo Attachment:
This is the most eye-straining and patience-testing step. The water rails must align perfectly with the blade edges, as this directly impacts your fluid efficiency when kicking underwater. Every single centimeter of bonding requires precise alignment and pressure.

• Foot Pocket Assembly & Curing:
The joint where the blade meets the foot pocket is critical for energy transfer. We use professional-grade adhesives and allow ample "curing time" to ensure the structure remains rock-solid under intense kicking pressure.

Before shipping, we perform a strict final check:
• Manual Glue Removal:
We hand-scrape any microscopic amounts of excess glue squeezed out during assembly.

• Cleaning:
We wipe away all traces of processing, allowing the prints and carbon fiber textures to reveal their purest, most radiant gloss.

• Final Packaging & Shipping
A pair of professional fins must accompany you into the deep ocean and withstand immense water pressure. Every single kick is a transfer of energy. If we skip an hour of sanding or cut down half a day of cooling time, the product delivered to you could harbor unforeseen safety risks.
"The value of craftsmanship lies in zero compromise on details."
Thank you for your patience. We are working hard to ensure that the companion about to explore the ocean with you meets you in its absolute most perfect state.
While we do our best to keep standard models of the blades fully stocked, certain styles occasionally experience a sudden surge in popularity, leading to temporary shortages. When this happens, we immediately arrange for our factory to work overtime. The advantage of having our own production line is that we can track progress firsthand, but no matter how urgent the request, we will never take shortcuts on the essential physical and handcrafted processes.
